unknown and almost imaginary. The frustration from this has generated a
desperate sense to not forget the things encountered in life and a desire to be a
part of and make memories of things in the natural world that are mysterious and
unfamiliar.
visual response and sincere exploration of this distance and estrangement felt from the world around me.
a way to create a connection, a history, to this

My inspiration is derived from science, culture, the natural world and urban sprawl.
My installations focus on capturing the overwhelming nature of a sprawling city and often use the primary colors of blue, yellow and red to emphasize the possibility of its transformation-all colors are possible from the mixture.
I like her methods of exhibiting her work, she varies between hanging her pieces to displaying the in various style on the ground.

draws inspiration from both digital technology and homebrew DIY makers examining the effects of high technology on the relationship between human beings and the natural environment.”*
the mountain becomes a simulated experience within a secluded environment, a simulation within the real. I am curious if nature, over the course of the exhibition, will begin to interact with the micro-mountain blurring the boundaries between the natural world and the simulated environment, adopting it as its own.
This work consists of a large sculptural mountain, created to invite wildlife and human visitors alike,
anatomy series
it is portable, it is body, it is machine, it is visceral. It collapses the anatomy of the body and the industrial machine,
I reaaly liked his work with use of play and colour. I think the boldness of the colours makes the work stand out more and the way he hangs them off the walls is interesting almost like toys.

my work so far
In my work I am looking at the aspects of the human figure that stand in for ourselves and act out humorous alterations which illustrate our current relationship with the natural world. I use subtle, playful interactions with my figures to create a impractical combination with nature and the impact on our environment. Bridging the gap between fantasy and everyday reality is my main goal throughout my explorations My work comess together and evolves into forms completely different than its primary form.

Transformation -making common objects more than they are.
excessive decoration, colour and humour
embellishment and colour-decorative sculptures
renders object unusable
idealized kitsch imagery of knick knack objects
this way of work brings objects once used as a symbol of wealth down to the level of mass culture.
brings viewer into a world that seems somehow familiar and strange at the same time.
i enjoy his use of colour, the colour is bold and in your face but it draws the viewers attention.
in my opinion its a reminder of alice in wonderland as it has the same style..its a narrative piece very playful and exotic and imaginative.

Of all the materials I have encountered, clay has proven to be the most forgiving
and accessible material, allowing me to explore ideas through the making of objects.
As a collector of things, it is the small elements that most
people overlook that inspire me most, the pieces that are thrown out or read as
undesirable.
the density of texture increases as the size
decreases, while colour enhances the structure making it more complete. It is how
individual elements, while independent, can also be used like building blocks to create
larger units of pattern
i like the way she displays her pieces ,how the flowers stick out from the wall . her pieces are very playful and sublime . i think saoirse or maeve might like her work.

Shay church
useful phrases:
" i believe in the natural cycle of earth"
" within these patterns of life and death is where i find truth"
"while cities grow, war rages and industry climbs, natures heart continues to pound."
" meaningful connection between the natural world and myself"
Explores spiritual, emotional and psychological concerns for humans experiences"
I think Dominic and amy may be interested in shay church with his use of whales and animals.
i was interested in shay cause of his statement wording on nature that relates to my project
i also though of roisin for his statement " connection between the natural world and myself "
